The Mighty Oaks are coming off a 17-11 season in 2022-23, while the Owls finished with a record of 16-15. Both teams are expected to be competitive again this season, and their meeting on November 7th should be a close and exciting one.

The Mighty Oaks are led by sixth-year head coach Greg Woodard. Woodard has led Oakwood to two NAIA Tournament appearances in his five seasons at the helm, and he is hoping to lead the Mighty Oaks to their first NAIA national championship since 1967.

Oakwood returns several key players from last season’s team, including senior guard Kyle Mangas and senior forward Kyle Teichman. Mangas is Oakwood’s leading scorer and rebounder, while Teichman is a versatile forward who can score and defend.

The Mighty Oaks also have a number of talented newcomers, including freshman guard Trey Green and freshman forward Isaiah Bajema. Green is a highly-touted recruit who is expected to make an immediate impact for Oakwood.

The Owls are led by third-year head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim. Abdur-Rahim has led Kennesaw State to one ASUN Tournament appearance in his two seasons at the helm, and he is hoping to lead the Owls to their first ASUN Tournament championship since 2014.

Kennesaw State returns several key players from last season’s team, including senior guard Terrell Burden and junior forward Chris Youngblood. Burden is Kennesaw State’s leading scorer and playmaker, while Youngblood is a double-double threat.

The Owls also have a number of talented newcomers, including freshman guard Bryson Etienne and freshman forward Terrell Edwards. Etienne is a highly-touted recruit who is expected to make an immediate impact for Kennesaw State.

The Oakwood-Kennesaw State matchup is a clash of two evenly matched teams. Both teams have a good mix of experienced players and talented newcomers.

The Mighty Oaks will be looking to slow down Kennesaw State’s high-powered offense. The Owls averaged 78.1 points per game last season, which was the second-most in the ASUN.

Kennesaw State will be looking to defend Oakwood’s perimeter shooters. The Mighty Oaks shot 39.5% from behind the three-point line last season, which was the third-best mark in the NAIA.

The Oakwood-Kennesaw State game is too close to call. Both teams are evenly matched, and they have a lot of respect for each other.

I am predicting a close game that comes down to the wire. The team that makes the most plays down the stretch will win.

The Oakwood-Kennesaw State game will be televised on ESPN+ on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 7:00pm ET. You can also stream the game on the ESPN+ app.
