Top 25 high school football players in Georgia

Not many states produce as many football players as Georgia. Each year, the Peach stands out, especially when you consider its population.

 

In fact, Georgia is often as the new leader, taking a top spot from California in high school football’s Big 3 Florida and Texas are still up there too! Looking ahead, both the 2025 and 2026 classes are packed with talent. We’re talking about tons of five-star recruits & top-50 national prospects for both groups!

 

Here’s a look at the top 25 football players in Georgia, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. This ranking combines data from all four big recruiting media companies.

 

So, who are Georgia’s best high school football talents?

  1. DL Elijah Griffin — 98.65Griffin earned the title of Georgia’s Class AAA Defensive Lineman of the Year & a MaxPreps Junior All-America pick after his junior season in 2023. Wow! He ended that season with an impressive 97 tackles (31 TFL), 17.5 sacks, & even snagged an interception. Right now, he’s ranked as the No. 5 prospect in the nation and No. 1 in Georgia for the 2025 class.
  2. DL Justus Terry — 98.61Terry made it onto the MaxPreps Junior All-America second-team after helping Manchester High reach their first state title game in 26 years with an awesome record of 11-3! Last season, he gathered 78 tackles (6.5 TFL), along with 13 sacks and two forced fumbles! Terry sits at No. 7 nationally, No. 2 among defensive linemen, & is also No. 2 in Georgia for the class of 2025.
  3. EDGE Isaiah Gibson — 96.58Gibson was once committed to USC but is now on board with Georgia! He stands tall at about 6-foot-3 and weighs around 263 pounds—perfect for a defensive player! Before his senior year, he hit a growth spurt and added extra weight too! In junior year alone, he led Warner Robins High with an incredible total of 17 sacks & had about 55 quarterback hurries.
  4. QB Julian Lewis — 96.34Lewis has been committed to USC for almost a year and has been one of the standout quarterbacks out there! Last year, he decided to change things up and join the Trojans earlier by reclassifying to the 2025 group! As a sophomore in 2023, he didn’t just play well; he was also a finalist for Gatorade National Player of the Year with some fantastic stats: went for an impressive completion rate while tossing for over three thousand yards!
  5. TE Elyiss Williams — 96.24Williams is considered the top tight end nationally for his class! He has been committed to Georgia since early April & shines not only on the field but also on the basketball court! Standing at an impressive height of six-foot-seven and weighing around 245 pounds, he pulled off about seven touchdowns as a junior while racking up over five hundred receiving yards!
  6. LB Zayden Walker — 96.13Another great recruit from Georgia! Walker has been recognized as one of the best linebacker/EDGE prospects across America in the class of ’25! He played both offense & defense last season—tallying up big numbers on both sides of the ball.
  7. IOL Josh Petty — 95.98Petty is super flexible and can easily play either tackle or guard next level! He showcased his skills at Roswell High—recording not only tackles but also some interceptions!
  8. ATH Darrell Johnson — 94.79Johnson can really do it all—playing multiple positions for Dodge Eastman County over several seasons! Last year alone he made quite an impact on defense!
  9. LB Tyler Atkinson (2026) —95.75Atkinson has really stood out this past year as one of America’s rising junior prospects! His involvement helped Grayson achieve great results last season!
  10. EDGE Jordan Carter (2026) —94.50Carter has been making waves across national circuits lately too—finishing strong during his junior season last year!

11-25: A bunch more noteworthy players follow like Xavier Griffin (94.45), Zelus Hicks (94.19), Devin Carter (94.16), Tavion Wallace (93.85), Tae Harris (93.76), Aaron Gregory (93.67), Travis Smith (93.40), Kaiden Prothro (93.39), CJ Wiley (93.15), Lagonza Hayward (93.12), Ousmane Kromah (92.92), Cam Brooks (92 .79), Christian Garrett , Xavier Tiller , and SAF Jontae Gilbert round out this talented group.
