Karla Rubilar, the candidate of the traditional right for the municipality of Puente Alto, votes
Karla Rubilar, the candidate for mayor of Chile Vamos, from the traditional right, in the municipality of Puente Alto, in the southeast of Santiago de Chile, has voted in the company of the current mayor of the commune, Germán Codina. “It has been a tough campaign, it is undeniable. Full of disqualifications, of lies,” the candidate said before casting her vote. Rubilar, who was a minister during the second Administration of President Sebastián Piñera (2018-2022), competes against Matías Toledo, a left-wing independent who does not belong to the coalitions that support President Boric. Puente Alto is the most populated municipality in the country and has been administered by the traditional right for almost two decades.
