The Marquette University Hilltoppers and Kimberly Papermakers will face off in the semi-final round of the WIAA (Wisconsin) 2023 Boys Football Tournament – Division 1 on Friday, November 10th, at 7:30pm ET at Sun Prairie West High School in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
The Hilltoppers come into the game with a 10-2 record, while the Papermakers are 10-1. Kimberly is ranked 6th in the state, while Marquette University is ranked 4th.

The Hilltoppers have a high-powered offense, averaging 37.7 points per game. They are led by senior quarterback Ryan Wright, who has thrown for over 2,400 yards and 30 touchdowns this season. Wright is also a threat on the ground, rushing for over 500 yards and eight touchdowns. Marquette University also has a solid running game, led by senior running back Matt Cassidy.
The Papermakers have a more balanced offense, averaging 24.5 points per game. They are led by senior quarterback Micah Ford, who has thrown for over 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns this season. Ford is also a threat on the ground, rushing for over 300 yards and six touchdowns. Kimberly also has a solid running game, led by senior running back Landyn Collins.
Both defenses are playing at a high level, with Marquette University allowing just 17.3 points per game and Kimberly allowing just 15.8 points per game.
This is sure to be a close game between two evenly matched teams. Marquette University will need to find a way to slow down the Papermakers’ running game and force turnovers. Kimberly will need to protect the football and capitalize on their scoring opportunities.
This is the first time that the two teams have met on the gridiron.
