The Fishermen got off to a hot start, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter. The first touchdown came on a 10-yard run by quarterback Johnny DiParla, and the second touchdown came on a 25-yard pass from DiParla to wide receiver Michael Tarr.
The Patriots answered back in the second quarter with a touchdown of their own, but the Fishermen maintained their lead, going into halftime up 14-7.
The Fishermen continued to dominate in the second half, scoring two more touchdowns. The first touchdown came on a 5-yard run by running back Ryan Delgado, and the second touchdown came on a 30-yard pass from DiParla to wide receiver James Ciaramitaro.
The Patriots scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late. The Fishermen held on for the 28-14 victory.
DiParla had a stellar game for the Fishermen, completing 15 of 20 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 50 yards.
Tarr was the leading receiver for the Fishermen, with six catches for 120 yards and a touchdown. Ciaramitaro had five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Delgado led the Fishermen rushing attack with 100 yards and a touchdown.
The Fishermen’s defense was also impressive, holding the Patriots to just 200 yards of total offense.
