Harris clings to her faith in Georgia
Democratic candidate Kamala Harris attended a religious service this morning at a Baptist church in Stonecrest, Georgia, where she spoke about her faith, something she has not done on many occasions during the election campaign. Inspired by the Gospel of Luke, the vice president addressed the congregation with a speech focused on love for one’s neighbor.
“For me, as for many of us, church is a place of growth, belonging and community, a place where we are reminded of the incredible power of faith and fellowship. And in moments of difficulty and uncertainty, when the path is not clear, it is our faith that guides us forward,” he said.
Harris has also called on attendees to vote. “We are faced with this question: what kind of country do we want to live in? A country of chaos, fear and hatred, or a country of freedom, compassion and justice? And the good thing about living in democracy is that we, the people, have the power to answer that question,” he said. “So let us respond, not just with our words, but with our action and with our votes.”
