Agents of the Local Police of Valencia have arrested a driver who has embedded his car in one of the secondary entrances to the subway on the central Colón street and, subsequently, tested positive in the alcohol control. The vehicle, a high-end BMV, was finally removed after 1:00 p.m.

The events occurred around 7:15 a.m. this Sunday, when a patrol that was on duty for the special operation of the Half Marathon located the vehicle embedded in the secondary entrance of the subway. The officers have tried to remove the vehicle with the police force’s tow truck, but it has not been possible.

The front part of the car has been lodged in the first steps of the access to the Metro, on Colón Street. The entrance to the metro stop has been canceled until it is removed.

The incident has not affected the passage of the Half Marathon along Colón Street, according to municipal sources. The car remained in the driveway while runners passed by it. According to what the agents have learned, the vehicle traveled several meters along the sidewalk, lost control and crashed into the subway stairs, as its driver drove from the subway entrance to an underground parking lot.

Upon the arrival of the Local Police, the driver was on the stairs talking with several subway workers. Seeing that he seemed to be under the influence of alcohol, they requested help from a Police patrol.

When the test was carried out, the driver tested positive, with a rate higher than 0.66 milligrams per liter of exhaled air, which is why he has been detained as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety and has been placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority in the Central Guard Inspection.
