Will Light and Shadow have a second season? Find out what the future of the series holds · TV News

[ad_1]

Based on the books written by Lauren Kate, Fallen – Light and Shadow reached the catalog of Globoplay on Thursday (17) and soon entered the ranking of trending productions on the platform. Despite being released abroad in August, the series has not yet been renewed for a second season — but its cancellation has not yet been announced.

Throughout the first weekend on streaming, the series was only behind the Tribute dedicated to actress Fernanda Montenegro in the High ranking. With eight episodes, the fantasy surpassed the new season of Lady Nightthe soap opera You Mania and the documentary Pra Semper Paquitas in the top 5 on Globoplay.

The story revolves around Lucinda Price (Jessica Alexander), a young woman tormented by visions throughout her life. Accused of having caused an arson attack, which she does not remember, she is admitted to the Sword & Cross psychiatric clinic to serve an initial sentence of two years.

Among the residents, she gets closer to Cam (Timothy Innes) and Ariane (Josefine Koening), in addition to feeling an inexplicable connection with the enigmatic Daniel (Gijs Blom).

It doesn’t take long for the girl to realize that the institution is surrounded by mysteries, mainly involving the psychiatrist Clifford Howson (Alexander Siddig) and the administrators of the place, the twins Miriam and Sophia (both played by Sarah Niles).

The protagonists then form an alliance with other inmates to discover why none of them can remember the life they led before. Luce also struggles to understand her connection to Daniel and face the dark forces that surround the institution.

Will there be a sequel to Fallen?

If the series is renewed, the production can explore the unfolding events and deepen the plot following the other volumes of the story. The franchise is made up of four main books, as well as two spin-offs and a collection of short stories.

The saga of the fallen angels was a hit among teenagers in the 2010s, with more than 10 million copies sold around the world.

The works have also been adapted for a film –which didn’t please the fans and ended up falling into oblivion. The film, released in 2016, stars Addison Timlin, Jeremy Irvine and Harrison Gilbertson and is also available on Globoplay.

What is the order of the Fallen books?

Luce is sent to Sword & Cross reformatory after her boyfriend dies in a mysterious fire. But the teenager suspects that the dark shadows, which have tormented her since childhood, are the ones truly responsible for the crime — but no one believes her.

Upon arriving at boarding school, she immediately feels an attraction to Daniel Grigori. The boy, however, does everything he can to keep her away for fear of further suffering. The two are lovers destined to meet in every life, but a curse means that Luce always dies as soon as she falls in love with the mysterious man.

Aware that Daniel is a fallen angel and the curse that surrounds them, Luce suffers from having to be separated from him once again. The boy hides his beloved in Shoreline, a school that houses nephilim, children or descendants of relationships between angels and mortals.

There, the young woman learns more about shadows and understands how she can use them as windows into her past lives. Meanwhile, Daniel begins a hunt for the Outcasts, other fallen angels, who want Luce dead more than anything.

Luce feels the need to know more about Daniel’s history in their other lives and the reasons behind the curse that torments them. After an irrational impulse, she takes the risk of diving into an Announcer — crossing the centuries, walking through her past lives and coming into contact with previous versions of herself and her loved one.

Daniel pursues her through time, trying to catch up with her without rest, before Luce can try to rewrite history and put all her incarnations at risk.

Luce manages to visit all its ancient versions, going from the Egypt of the pharaohs to immemorial China, passing through Italy and primitive America. After six millennia, she is closer than ever to her goal.

Now, the young woman needs to be strong so that, together with Daniel, she can reach the end of her ordeal. Lucinda has to remember who she was and what she really is in order to fight her last battle.

  • 5) In Love – Fallen Love Stories

Set between the events of Passion and Ecstasy, the book shows stories of supporting characters — such as Roland, Miles, Shelby and Ariane — and narrates other types and examples of love. Author Lauren Kate also uses as inspiration stories she received from fans throughout the process of publishing the first volumes of the series.

  • 6) The Book of Ham – Unforgiven

Cam has lived in Hell longer than any angel, but his new martyrdom is High School. After choosing Luce and Daniel, the boy can’t help but feel that the time has come to surrender to love too.

He makes a pact with the devil, to try to free the mortal Lilith from Lucifer’s clutches. The girl inhabits a particular purgatory in her existence in the circles of Hell. All because of Cam. If in 15 days the angel manages to win her back, she will be released.

The book features seven new short stories featuring beloved characters from the franchise, with Ariane in a consumerist rage, Daniel wandering the streets of Los Angeles, Miles flirting with darkness, an unpleasant scene in Shoreline and even the fire that takes Luce to boarding school.
