Rodolfo Barros, in turn, is a retired criminal. He is considered a former bicheiro who now dedicates himself to samba and horse breeding, in addition to the women he conquers.

The description recalls that of Maninho Garcia (1962-2004), a bicheiro from Rio who was known for being a great conqueror of women and also for his involvement with horse breeding and the Salgueiro samba school.

His and his family’s story became popular in Brazil after being portrayed in the series Vale o Escrito – A Guerra do Jogo do Bicho, a series from Globoplay which premieres on Globo this Tuesday (29).

On social media, actor José de Abreu has shown a lot of happiness and excitement about being back on Globo’s television drama in Volta por Cima.

“I have just signed a contract for certain work with Globo. It is the fourth job in four years, after the interruption of the long contract, which lasted 21 years. I have been there since 1981. Even without a contract, I maintain an average of one soap opera per year . Volta por Cima is an incredible success. Very happy to join this party”, he wrote in a post on Instagram, on the 13th.

At the time, he also commented that “being Kike Diaz’s father is an immense privilege! Another reason for my happiness.”

On October 21st, the artist published a photo in which he appears with a glass of champagne in hand and celebrated: “A toast to the new contract that started today! Wait for me! Volta por Cima, Globo’s biggest success today”.
