The psychologist explains that in cases like Paolla Oliveira’s, persecution can result in trauma and harm the life of the person whose privacy is violated.

“The victim may experience anxiety attacks, for example, in addition to having problems going out on the street. It is also possible to experience depression, everything will depend on each case. For those who persecute, this exposure can be very difficult, because it can generate more feelings of shame, guilt and rejection, mainly because this person is in a position of psychological vulnerability”, says Busin.

According to the expert, there are points that serve as a warning for both public and anonymous people when identifying when gestures of admiration become a reason for suspicion.

Four warning signs are: if the person is increasing the frequency of contact a lot and is not reciprocated, however, they continue to follow up; observe the behavior of monitoring the victim’s life; have a feeling of ownership and right to the life of others; and also the difficulty of accepting clear limits, the ‘no’.

“The treatment I always recommend is behavioral therapy, which can be very useful for people to recognize and modify obsessive behavior patterns. I think it’s cool to think: how can we internally identify that there is an obsession, which can if a greater feeling develops, causing a deviation?”, he adds.

What does the accused say?

The accused spoke about the accusation in an interview with Portal Leo Dias. She claimed to have been a victim of defamation by Paolla during the recording of the soap opera A Dona do Pedaço (2019), in which the actress played digital influencer Vivi Guedes.
