Since Hour One this Wednesday (23), the Globo follows the case of the shooter in Novo Hamburgo, in Rio Grande do Sul. Edson Fernando Crippa killed a police officer, his own father and brother, and left other officers and relatives injured. During the Meeting, Patrícia Poet expressed his indignation regarding the brutal crime and gave details of the investigation into the case.

“I want to start by talking about the panic that some residents of Novo Hamburgo went through this morning. I was watching Hora Um earlier today and I was scared during the reporter’s live appearance. You can only hear the shots”, said the presenter, who repeated the report from the morning newspaper that captured the sounds of the gunshots fired by the criminal live.

“Terrifying, right? At the time, I confess to you from home, I couldn’t really understand what was happening. What is known is that this shooting left four dead and nine injured”, explained the journalist, who called Cesar Tralli to give more details of what happened.

The anchor of Newspaper Today explained that the shooter was identified as the fourth person killed in the brutal crime. “When the police managed to invade the house, they realized that the shooter was also dead. We have been following this case since last night. The siege lasted more than nine hours. He shot relatives and police officers who were trying, in a way, to negotiate a surrender”, explained the journalist.

“Unfortunately, inside the house, he killed his father, his brother and a military police officer who was outside, because he opened fire on everyone who tried to get close to the house. He ended up injuring nine people”, he detailed.

Reporter Eduardo Paganella went live to report on the situation at the residence in Novo Hamburgo after the crime. “The exchange of gunfire was very intense throughout the morning. We are in an area that was designated so that people would not approach the house. Walking along the street, we noticed that there were many partygoers that remained in the area”, he detailed.

The four dead were Eugênio Crippa, 74 years old, father of the shooter; Everton Krisch Junior, 31-year-old police officer; Everton Crippa, brother of the shooter, who was taken to a hospital for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries; and Edson Fernando Crippa, 45 years old, responsible for the crime.

Six military police officers were injured, a municipal guard officer was also hit, and the shooter’s mother and sister-in-law are hospitalized in serious condition.

“This case begins with a report of false imprisonment from the shooter’s own parents, who apparently ended up killing himself. The police went to the scene to confirm the report and, when they got there, he started shooting at everyone in sight. comes back, surprising those inside the house and outside too”, explained Tralli.

“This police officer, who was unfortunately murdered, he just became a father, he left behind a 45-day-old son. The shooter’s mother is in a serious condition, she was shot three times; his sister-in-law is also in a serious condition, hospitalized; six more police officers shot and another person who was on the street. It’s a very sad situation, Patrícia”, he lamented.
