Mario Gomes he opened up about the life change he suffered after being evicted from the property where he lived in Rio de Janeiro. He currently lives on the top floor of a two-story house, which doesn’t even compare to his old house. “I’ve cried several times because of this, it’s very sad,” he admitted.

In an interview with Domingo Espetacular, on Record, the former Globo heartthrob explained that he had never thought about getting rid of his property. He, however, had problems with the courts because of an old business he owned, and the property was put up for auction to pay off a labor debt.

“It’s priceless, I wouldn’t sell it under any circumstances, it was my place. I’ve lived there since I was a kid,” he said, who left the house in September.

I’ve cried several times because of this, it’s very strong. But I didn’t lose everything, because I have my quality, my work, the things I do, we are there. I have good things ahead of me, you’ll see.

Also during the interview, the actor commented on the new place where he is living with his family. “It’s a charming little townhouse. Our love nest”, he joked. “There’s no mystery at all. We fixed this place up, but it’s satisfactory, the problem is that it’s a little small,” he added.

Financial aid

Since receiving an eviction order, Mário Gomes has started to receive financial help from his followers on social media. He made a pix key available for fans to donate.

“Hello, everyone! I’m here to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this solidarity that only our people have, this wonderful people that are the Brazilian people, who don’t deserve to go through what they’re going through, the fires, this whole thing,” he said through video shared on Instagram.

“But I just want to thank you for the support you’ve been giving me. I’m moved to cry a lot, to shed a lot of tears, because it’s really cool. You can count on me. I’m here to thank you for this immense solidarity”, added the former heartthrob of Globe.

Eviction order

The actor was evicted from the property where he had lived since 2002 with his family in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, after the property went up for auction to pay off a labor debt that the actor had in Paraná.

The legal battle began in 2007, according to the newspaper Extra. The actor owned an old clothing factory, but got rid of the company. At the time, he owed 84 employees salaries.

The debt started at R$923 thousand. In 2011, the Labor Court ordered the property to be put up for auction. Gomes also had an accumulated IPTU (Urban Property and Land Tax) debt that already exceeded R$100,000.
