Roque had his first hospitalization of 2024 at the end of May. At the time, he gave an interview to It’s Time and declared his health to be 80%. “Unfortunately, what happened to me could happen to anyone, these are things in life,” he reflected.
“We ate, and when it was time for dessert, I thought he was a little strange. I said: ‘What do you have?’. He said: ‘No, I don’t feel anything’. When I turned around, my son shouted: ‘The father is feeling ill'”, recalled Janilda Nogueira, Roque’s wife, about the day the entertainer fell ill in a restaurant.
“He stayed there five days [internado]took the exams. The X-ray showed bleeding in the skull and a brain tumor. With medication, God willing, you won’t need to operate. It wasn’t a stroke,” she added.
Before hospitalization, Roque was being treated at home, with medication, and did not need surgery.
