Young indigenous man is stabbed to death in Bahia

A young indigenous man, aged 20, was stabbed to death in the rural area of the municipality of Alcobaça, in the south of Bahia. The suspect was arrested in the act after being found near the body.
The victim was identified as Itapurunan Rodrigues da Silva. According to information from the Civil Police, witnesses reported that the victim was drinking with two other people when one of them struck him using a machete. The victim’s body was found last Saturday (19), in the Pau da Garrafa community.
The crime was registered at the 1st Territorial Police Station of Teixeira de Freitas, where the suspect was arrested in the act. The victim’s body was removed and taken for forensic examination. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the crime.
