An employee of a drugstore in the Santa Maria region, in the Federal District, used a bench to defend herself from a man who was allegedly trying to rob the establishment last Saturday (26).

Surveillance images circulating on social media captured the suspect entering the pharmacy with a machete, around 5:30 pm. He tries to go to the side of the counter where there is a woman and an attendant.

The employee then picks up a bench and tries to hit the man with part of the seat. He walks away, puts the knife inside his backpack, while the woman continues trying to hit him with the object.

In one of the attacks, she ends up hitting a computer monitor that is on the counter. The suspect then flees the scene of the crime.

According to the Military Police, a witness called 190 and gave the characteristics of the man who tried to rob the pharmacy. The information was delivered to the teams from the 26th Battalion, “which reinforced patrolling”, said the PM, in a note.

As of Monday night, the 28th, the suspect had still not been located and was still at large, according to police officers.
