Singer Wesley Safadão and his brother Watila own Betvip and Ganhabet: two betting houses banned by a list released by the Ministry of Finance on October 1st this year. The information was published by Folha de S. Paulo.
Safadão has been Betvip’s poster boy since last year. In a video published in December 2023 on Tiktok, the singer says he is a “free employee” of the company, denying being the owner.
“I received proposals from several other companies; Esportes da Sorte, VaideBet, Pixbet and Aposta Ganha, and I agreed to be part of Betvip for the project, for the ideas”, he said in the video. “I am not the owner of Betvip, I am an employee with the freedom to form a good team”, he added.
Despite the singer’s refusal, the Betvip registration was made by Wesley’s family company on March 25 of this year. His brother Watila was the one who registered the Ganhabet brand.
Watila, Wesley’s brother and partner, told Folha de S. Paulo that the brands of the two betting sites are in his and the singer’s names only because they had the idea of registering them at that time, but that they are being passed on to the name of the businessman Ernildo Junior.
Ernildo Júnior de Farias Santos is the owner of Rockstar, majority shareholder of Bet Vip and Ganha Bet, in addition to being the owner of the Pix Bet bookmaker.
“Everything belongs to Ernildo, we are not the owners, we registered them and they are already with their respective owners. You will already see the transition at Inpi [Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial]”, he stated.
Network of family members linked to ‘bets’
Three companies share the ownership of the two betting sites: Rockstock Participações, with 50%, BGA Tecnologia, with 40% and Wolfsburg Participações, with 10%.
BGA Tecnologia is managed by Wesley Safadão’s sister-in-law, Dayane Rocha de Oliveira, also responsible for another company in the same group, Ganhabet.
On her social networks, Dayane promotes Betvip and Ganhabet.
The Ministry of Finance did not say why it blocked Betvip because, according to the ministry, it does not comment on individual cases. The company requested registration within the legal deadline.
Among the possible reasons for denying the registration of a company is the existence of criminal records of the partners or problems in the documentation presented.
Betvip is the only company that allows you to bet on vaquejadas. The country singer has horses used in the sport and both PixBet and Betvip sponsor and organize sport tournaments.
Wesley Safadão did not respond to questions sent by Folha de S. Paulo.
