The second round in Camaçari, in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador (RMS), is busy. Voters accuse military police officers of aggression and threats this Sunday afternoon (27). Videos show three agents arguing with residents. In the images, one of the police officers kicks a man and another “draws his weapon”, but then puts the revolver away. The complaints were published by ACM Neto, national vice-president of União Brasil and former mayor of Salvador.
“Corralling the population here, cornering the good citizen”, complained one of the voters. Some of the people who appear were voters for Flávio Matos (União Brasil) and are wearing the party’s shirt. It is still possible to hear other complaints. “Are you going to shoot? Are you serious?” says a man. “There’s no need to pull the gun on the boy,” complains a woman, in another recording.
On social media, ACM Neto lamented the case. “What we are witnessing on this election Sunday in Camaçari is SURREAL. Something I have never seen in my public life. The images speak for themselves: the State’s rigging of the electoral process is appalling, a frontal attack on democracy. We want to know: governor, Where did this command come from? Our Military Police don’t deserve this. Much less the Bahians”, he criticized.
The report contacted the Military Police to obtain a position on the allegations and is awaiting a response.
