The Federal Highway Police (PRF) arrested two men with outstanding arrest warrants during a single stop on BR-116, in Vitória da Conquista, southwest of the state. The men were arrested on Wednesday afternoon (23).
The action occurred around 6:30 pm, at km 830, when the PRF team intercepted a black Chevrolet/Cobalt 1.4 LT, occupied by a couple and two passengers in the back seat.
During the document check, the driver and his companion presented their official identification, but one of the rear seat occupants handed over an identity document which, when consulted in the electronic systems, was found to be false.
The man confessed his true identity and an arrest warrant for murder was found, issued by the Single Court of the District of Itarema, in Ceará. The other passenger, who initially claimed not to have documents and identified himself verbally, was also discovered using false data. His real name indicated an arrest warrant for robbery, issued by the 4th Criminal Execution Court of Fortaleza.
The driver and his companion stated that they were unaware that the passengers had pending legal matters and claimed that they were just giving the two men a ride from the interior of Ceará to Rio de Janeiro.
Given the situation, the two fugitives were arrested and taken to the Federal Police Station in Vitória da Conquista, where they were placed under judicial custody.
