The Regional Labor Court of the 5th Region (TRT-5), in Bahia, plans to spend R$142 thousand on materials to promote events. The court issued a tender to purchase items such as crystal glasses, artificial flower arrangements, porcelain dinnerware, stainless steel cutlery, fabric napkins, Persian-style rugs and bistro tables.
Estadão asked the court for a position on the purchase, but did not receive a response until the publication of this text
Before publishing the notice, the TRT carried out a preliminary technical study on the purchase. This is a mandatory step for the opening of bids by any public body. The study concluded that the items are “essential for promoting the development of work processes and strengthening the court’s image in society.”
According to the court, the material will be used to promote small and medium-sized events, such as tributes, magistrate meetings, inaugurations and seminars, and thus “provide excellent services in the indispensable public protocol, reception and internal and external institutional relations”.
“The acquisition of own items will provide adequate provision of organization and management services and is justified due to the need for this TRT to promote various events”, states the technical study.
