A man died after a confrontation with military police in the town known as Marcelino, on the island of Itaparica, Metropolitan Region of Salvador. The case happened on the morning of this Wednesday (23). The suspect’s identity has not been confirmed by police.

According to the Civil Police (PC), garrisons from the 23rd Military Police Battalion (BPM) went to investigate a report of a movement of war material in the region when they found an armed duo, who shot at the PMs. There was a confrontation and one of the men was injured. He was taken to the General Hospital of Itaparica, but did not survive.

According to the Military Police (PM), the action resulted in the seizure of a 380 pistol, two chargers, 9mm, .40 and 380 caliber ammunition, 453g of cocaine-based paste and 24g of ecstasy. The PC also reported that camouflage clothing, a ballistic vest cover and cell phones were presented at the 19th Territorial Police Station of Itaparica, which recorded the incident.
