Salvador and Porto Seguro are among the 10 most popular destinations for the next high season in Brazil, in 5th and 9th positions, respectively. The ranking is the result of a survey by Kayak, a travel metasearch engine, which released a report with the main trends for Summer 2025.

The search “Check-in for your trip: Summer 2025” includes, among other information, the most popular destinations and the best time to book flights. “The report reveals many interesting trends, including the 11% drop in the average price of round-trip domestic flights in economy compared to summer 2023/2024, which is excellent news for those looking to explore Brazil” , highlights Gustavo Vedovato, Kayak’s country manager in Brazil.

Recife, the most searched national destination on the platform, had a 59% increase in search volume and presented one of the biggest price reductions, with average flight prices falling 12% compared to last year. The capital of Pernambuco is on the podium with São Paulo and Maceió, in order.

Check out the most popular domestic destinations:

  • 01) Recife
  • 02) São Paulo
  • 03) Maceió
  • 04) Fortaleza
  • 05) Salvador
  • 06) Rio de Janeiro
  • 07) Natal
  • 08) João Pessoa
  • 09) Porto Seguro
  • 10) Florianópolis

Still according to Kayak, the best way to save is to book flights in early December or late January. According to the search engine, in the last week of January, the same destination has a round-trip ticket in economy class for R$1,161, while in the week before Christmas, the same route costs R$1,781. Among the end of year festivities, New Year is cheaper than Christmas.

The report also demonstrates that Brazilians are seeking experiences in national destinations that are still little explored. These trending destinations saw a significant increase in searches, reaching 91% and 82%, as in the case of Macapá and Imperatriz, respectively. Of the ten trending destinations, five are in the North region.

Trending domestic destinations:

  • 01) Macapá (Amapá)
  • 02) Imperatriz (Maranhão)
  • 03) Petrolina (Pernambuco)
  • 04) Marabá (Pará)
  • 05) Juazeiro do Norte (Ceará)
  • 06) São Luiz (Maranhão)
  • 07) Belém (Pará)
  • 08) Maringá (Paraná)
  • 09) Recife (Pernambuco)
  • 10) Vitória da Conquista (Bahia)

“Analyzing the data, it is clear that the North is consolidating itself as a region desired by travelers, just as the Northeast is. And there are many reasons for this trend. The North region offers a variety of natural beauty, making it an ideal option for ecology enthusiasts. In addition to its rich cultural diversity, the region has a deep historical heritage. Its cuisine is another great attraction, with unique ingredients such as açaí and freshwater fish, making it a gastronomic adventure”, highlights Vedovato.

Among the favorite national destinations for foreign visitors, Salvador is in 4th placebehind Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Florianópolis. Check ranking:

  • 01) Rio de Janeiro
  • 02) São Paulo
  • 03) Florianópolis
