Shakira spoke about the end of her marriage and the process of emotional recovery after the betrayal of former Spanish player, Gerard Piqué, in an interview with GQ.

The Colombian singer said that she surrounded herself with friends during difficult times and said that it will still take time to heal from the hurt after the divorce.

‘I realized that friendship is longer than love. I didn’t know it was like that. Life took away a husband from me, but it gave me so many friends’, said Shakira.

Shakira revealed that she felt welcomed and loved by her friends. ‘I have never felt so loved, so wanted, as by my friends. I must have done something good in life to have so many people who love me’, he declared.

Despite the welcome, Shakira did not forget that she was very hurt by people she did not expect.

‘There are people who betrayed me, who turned their back on me and who exploded inside. People who weren’t there when I needed them most. The healing process is long and will take several albums’, he revealed.
