The Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration and Resocialization (SEAP) carries out Megaoperation Angerona this Monday morning (21), at the Feira de Santana Penal Complex (CPFS), the largest prison unit in the state. The prison has 1,950 inmates, distributed across 11 pavilions.
Angerona has the work of more than 250 police officers and is coordinated by Seap through the Prison Management Superintendency (SGP), with the work of Penal Police Officers from the Specialized Group in Prison Operations (GEOP), Electronic Personnel Monitoring Center (CMEP) , the Coordination of Monitoring and Evaluation of the Prison System (CMASP), in addition to the Ordinary Criminal Police Officers.
The actions also include the work of the Special Group for Combating Criminal Organizations and Criminal Investigations (GAECO/MP-BA), the Independent Police Company of Guard of Feira de Santana (CIPG), the Mounted Police Squadron of Feira de Santana, the Shock Police Battalion (BPChq), Rondesp-Leste, Air Group (Graer/PMBA), Independent Specialized Police Company (CIPE/East) and Civil Police teams.
The operation was named Angerona in reference to the goddess of silence, with the aim of cutting off possible communication between criminals inside and outside the walls.
