Real Madrid’s epic 5-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund this Tuesday, in a Champions League game, may have cost coach Carlo Ancelotti dearly. This is because he could lose two important pieces for the classic with Barcelona: goalkeeper Courtois and striker Rodrygo.

Undergoing an imaging test after the match against the Germans, an injury to the adductor muscle of the Belgian archer’s left leg was diagnosed. The club’s official website states that he has been evaluated by the medical department and his progress is pending.

Striker Rodrygo, who had to be substituted in the second half, is also at risk of being out of the match due to an injury to his right leg. Spanish newspapers take his absence on Saturday against Barcelona for granted. The club, however, did not make the embezzlement official. What is certain is that the Brazilian player is already in intensive treatment.

The athlete was injured in the final stage, when Real Madrid were already beating Borussia 3-2. After sprinting, the player felt pain in the area and left the duel. On social media, Rodrygo spoke out.

“Thank you for all the messages of love and support! Tomorrow I will have tests and, with faith, this injury will not be a big deal”, says part of the text of the post.

The two biggest clubs in Spain occupy the top two positions in the Spanish Championship standings. Isolated leader, Barcelona has 27 points, three more than its Madrid rival. The duel is scheduled for 4pm (Brasília time) and will be played at the Santiago Bernabéu.
