The body of receptionist Camila Sampaio Rodrigues, aged 32, was located on Tuesday afternoon (22) inside her own house, on Rua Dois de Fevereiro, in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, in Salvador. The main suspect is the victim’s ex-partner who was sheltering in the house because he was unemployed, according to family members.
Camila had been missing since last Sunday (20), when she arrived from a trip to Boipeba. Since then, the family has been unable to contact the receptionist. She worked at a clinic in Salvador and didn’t show up for work. Worried, relatives went to her house, where they found the young woman’s body after dragging a bed.
A Civil Police expert informed TV Bahia that the body had injuries caused by strangulation and a sharp weapon. Neighbors also said they heard calls for help, but could not find where the screams were coming from.
Also according to TV Bahia, family members said that Camila was no longer in a relationship with her ex, but sheltered the man at home because he was unemployed. He has not yet been located.
The Military Police stated in a statement that they were called to the scene, found the dead body under the bed and called the Technical Police Department to carry out the investigation and remove it.
The Civil Police, which is investigating the case, confirmed that the woman’s body was found with punctures caused by a sharp weapon.
“Hearings and investigations will be carried out to clarify the circumstances, authorship and motivation of the crime,” the agency said in a statement.
Camila leaves behind a 6-year-old son.
