Last week, Rafael Cardoso revealed that he is legally prevented from seeing his children, Aurora, aged eight, and Valentim, aged six, with his ex-wife, Mariana Bridi. He is also the father of Helena, about to turn one, as a result of his current relationship with psychologist Carol Ferraz.

The actor and the digital influencer were married for 15 years and separated in December 2022. The controversy surrounding the two began after Cardoso responded to comments on social media, accusing the actor of abandoning his children from his first marriage.

After her ex-husband’s statement, Mariana used her social media to talk about the situation, revealing that there are two ongoing legal proceedings against the actor: one in the family court and the other in the Domestic Violence Court. She said that the actions need to remain confidential to preserve the integrity of those involved, especially the children.

“These measures were never intended to separate fathers and children, but to protect them,” he explained. Aurora and Valentim live under the sole custody of their mother, but the digital influencer explained that this is a temporary situation.

Mariana also highlighted that she strictly follows the legal provisions of a protective measure in force to guarantee her mental and physical health. “When my children’s father meets the requirements established by the Court, he will have the right to see them in person.”

In her speech, she also criticized the lack of support for women who experience emotional and psychological violence. “Why would the court prevent a father from seeing his children in person? This is a question that is rarely asked, because, as a society, we have been taught to question and automatically judge a woman’s decisions”, he highlighted.

At the end of the statement, Cardoso’s ex-wife stated that he maintains daily contact with the children virtually. The digital influencer regretted the actor’s attitude, revealing that her desire was to keep the situation private.

Rafael Cardoso refutes ex-wife’s accusations

This Tuesday, the 22nd, Rafael Cardoso once again spoke about the matter on his social networks. In a statement published on his Instagram, he denied that he had been violent towards his ex-wife and children.

“I never laid a finger on my children or their mother […] Yesterday, I was bombarded with news about two processes that are being carried out in secret. As we cannot expose minors, I come here to state that none of them are about having attacked my children’s mother or them”, he began.

He explained that he made the situation public because he receives comments, which are not true, about his children, highlighting that not seeing Aurora and Valentim was not his decision.

“I am at peace, with a clear conscience. I have never laid a finger on the mother or my children! As soon as Justice manifests itself, I will break the silence and you will know the true story. I accept my mistakes. I do not live by a created image or any kind of character. My essence will be revealed when the time is right”, he concluded.
