The aircraft was found, but without survivors. “The company is welcoming families and offering all the necessary support in this moment of pain”, he says, in a note. The accident happened on Wednesday night (23).

Florianópolis International Airport reported that the flight took off at 4:58 pm towards Pampulha Airport, in the capital of Minas Gerais, where it would make a stop before heading to Salvador. In São Paulo, the plane hit a hill and crashed into a forested area in Santa Branca. There was a storm and the pilot tried to change course, without success.

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) says that the aircraft disappeared from monitoring radars at 6:39 pm. The fall occurred in a forested area, which was difficult to access. Firefighters were called to the rescue and arrived at the wreckage around 11pm. “The adverse conditions, such as heavy rain, low visibility and the state of destruction of the aircraft, have made it difficult to locate the victims”, said an initial note from the Fire Department. Early in the morning, they confirmed that there were no survivors.

The aircraft’s documentation was in order. The plane’s Airworthiness Verification Certificate (CVA) would expire on June 25 of next year and the airworthiness situation was considered “normal”, according to authorities.

Covia at the time of the accident. The FAB says that investigators from the Fourth Regional Service for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (SERIPA IV) were called to carry out the Initial Action of the incident involving the aircraft registered PT-MBU, between the municipalities of Paraibuna and Santa Branca (SP). The investigation is still in its early stages to discover the causes of the accident.
