The summer in Porto Seguro, in the south of Bahia, started earlier than expected, with a record tourist flow registered in the first half of October, driven by school breaks in several regions of Brazil. The city reached 95% hotel occupancy, a number that should be repeated in November.
It is expected to reach 100% occupancy in the 2024/2025 season, considered the largest in history. So much so that 912 landings are planned until December 24, 1068 in January and 858 in February, totaling 2,838.
“We are prepared for a historic season. Our priority is to ensure that everyone who visits Porto Seguro has a unique and unforgettable experience”, said the Secretary of Tourism, Guto Jones.

Furthermore, strengthening road access has also been a key factor in increasing tourist flow. Investments in infrastructure and road improvements have facilitated the arrival of tourists both by air and land.
Vice Mayor Paulinho Toa Toa reinforced the importance of planning to guarantee an organized operation. “We are mobilizing all areas to ensure that Porto Seguro is prepared to receive this large flow of visitors, providing peace of mind for residents and tourists”, he stated in an alignment meeting for “Operação Verão”.
