According to the Secretary of Public Security, the weapons belonged to members of criminal factions.

Two rifles were seized this Tuesday afternoon (29), in Salvador. The weapons were found in the neighborhoods of Itapuã and Alto do Cabrito. Two men and a woman were also arrested red-handed.

In the Itapuã neighborhood, the police dismantled a drug laboratory, during an action against a faction that operates in the city. Two rifles, around 150 kg of drugs were seized at the scene and three suspects were arrested in the act.

In Alto do Cabrito, the criminals ran from the Rondesp BTS garrisons and abandoned a 5.56 caliber rifle, charger, ammunition and portions of drugs.

“There will be 73 rifles removed from the hands of drug traffickers and 19 drug laboratories dismantled in 2024. We will remain firm against organized crime”, stated the Secretary of Public Security, Marcelo Werner.

According to the Secretary of Public Security, the weapons belonged to members of criminal factions. With these two incidents, the number of rifles seized in Bahia rose to 73 this year.
