The Military Police begins this Tuesday (22) an integrated action against factions in Salvador. Operation Horus has teams from specialized units, including those popularly nicknamed ‘Caatingas’.
The operation will be for an indefinite period, with the aim of repressing criminal groups. The teams will be employed in areas mapped by the Intelligence sectors.
The Secretary of Public Security, Marcelo Werner, and the general commander of the PM, Colonel Paulo Coutinho, will participate in the beginning of the operation. Afterwards, the teams will go on missions.

The number represents an increase of 250% in relation to the cases on the 15th, when the institute recorded four deaths. Fogo Cruzado also recorded data on armed violence in October, with 75 deaths between 10/01 and 10/15 in Salvador and RMS, an increase of 31.57% compared to the same period in 2023.
The incidents occurred in Candeias (5), Salvador (3), Simões Filho (3) and Camaçari (3). In the capital, two deaths were recorded in the Fazenda Grande IV neighborhood, where two women were found dead with signs of torture in the town of Vila Vitório. The third took place in Tancredo Neves, with the body of a man found with gunshot marks in Travessa Guanabara. No further information about the crimes was released, and the police will investigate the perpetrator and motivation.
