13 warrants are served

This Thursday (24), the Federal Police launched Operation Pacto Infame, which aims to combat embezzlement of public resources, bidding fraud and criminal association involving contracts in the civil engineering area of ​​the municipality of Gongogi, in the south of Bahia.

13 search and seizure warrants issued by the 2nd Federal Civil and Criminal Court of Itabuna-BA are being executed in the cities of Itabuna, Ipiaú, Ibicaraí and Gongogi.

At this stage, the warrants will collect evidence to help with the investigation, as well as identifying new crimes and those involved. According to investigations, several bidding processes had been rigged (directed) to benefit a company based in the city of Gongogi, which signed almost two dozen contracts and received more than R$7 million in payments from the City Hall of this city in the last four years.

The report contacted the municipal management to obtain a position on the complaint and is awaiting a response.

The evidence indicates that the group investigated has been involved in fraud of this nature since 2017, also operating in other cities in Bahia.
