Pastor Antônio Lima dos Santos Neto knew that 27-year-old Bahian Luane Costa da Silva was a trans woman because the place where he found her is a prostitution spot for transsexuals, says Myllena Rios, Luane’s sister. The Bahian woman was a call girl in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, where she was found dead in a motel room on the 22nd.
“He knew it was a trans spot, a trans street. He went there with the intention of looking for a trans woman. He was probably already dating her. He already went there with the intention of killing, taking her life, and now he’s saying he didn’t know that She was trans. A lie, he knew, yes”, Myllena is outraged, upon learning that the pastor claimed that he gave up the program after discovering that Luane was transsexual and that this would have generated a disagreement that culminated in a physical fight. Antônio was arrested by the Santos police shortly after the crime.
For Myllena, who is also trans and does programs, like her sister, the pastor did not want to pay the agreed amount. “He didn’t want to pay her. He found an easier way to kill her. It was all a lie, he didn’t use a stun gun, it’s all him trying… Do you know why he’s saying all this? Because she’s simply not here to tell her version. She can’t defend herself. He already had bad intentions, he wanted to take my sister’s life”, she says.
To the police, the pastor claimed that the woman approached him when he was driving along Avenida Senador Feijó, in the city of São Paulo. A R$100 program was offered, the two went to a motel, but at the scene, the suspect gave up. He said that the victim felt humiliated and charged another R$100. After making the payment, she allegedly asked for more and the two got into a physical fight.
The fight involved Luane using a stun gun, according to the accused. The pastor would have used it against her, and she was left unconscious. The man fled the scene and discarded the object. When he returned to the motel in search of his cell phone, he was caught by employees.
The cause of death was determined by forensic experts to be strangulation due to asphyxiation. “I wanted this miserable man to pay, he’s making up slander against her”, says Luane’s sister.
Luane was from Santo Antônio de Jesus, in the Recôncavo region of Bahia, and had recently moved with her husband to Santos. Now, her body will return to her hometown for burial. The wake is scheduled to take place this Friday (25).
