Christmas magic arrived early for families who attended Shopping Itaigara this Tuesday (29). During the inauguration of the Christmas decorations at the establishment, grandparents, parents and children were able to watch a performance by Bom Velhinho and his helpers. In addition to meeting Santa Claus, the little ones were also able to ride a Ferris wheel, play on reindeer swings and in the ball pit integrated into the Christmas tree.
Under the theme “A Time of Magic and Fun”, Christmas music took over the ground floor of the mall during the presentation by Santa’s helpers. The companions colored the green lawn of the central square with their red and gold clothes, while the children looked enraptured at the environment decorated with lights, balls and bows that recall the December 25th holiday. In the center of the space, a large Christmas tree had a sign indicating the countdown to the holiday: 57 days.
The distance to the Christian festival did not stop Bom Velhinho from going down the mall’s escalator, greeting the children around the square and spreading the Christmas spirit to the public. “Merry Christmas,” he exclaimed. Natanael’s interpreter, helper responsible for taking little ones’ letters to Santa Claus, dancer Antônio Carlos Neves, 30, said that the event is important to preserve the magic of Christmas in children’s eyes. “We came to bring happiness to children not only from here [do Itaigara]but from different regions of the city. Let playfulness remain in the hearts of these children”, he said.
Excited for Christmas this year, Ana Beatriz Marim really enjoyed the presentation and has already revealed what she will ask Santa for as a gift. “I want a doll that talks,” he said. The girl’s mother, housewife Letícia Marim, 43, said she came to the mall just to experience the Christmas atmosphere with her daughter. “Christmas is a time when we make memories. I want to create a childhood of memories for her”, he reported.
After the presentation, Bom Velhinho was on hand to take orders and take photos with the children. Little Felipe Messeder, 3 years old, wanted a snake as a gift for the December 25th holiday, but, despite having watched the entire presentation, he didn’t want to take his portrait with Santa Claus during the photo session. “I’m embarrassed,” he revealed shyly. Despite being reserved, doctor Renata Messeder, 35, the boy’s mother, said that the boy is in love with the Christmas atmosphere. “When it’s close to Christmas he keeps asking ‘Mommy, when is Christmas coming?’. Because of this, we always go to these shopping mall openings,” he said.
Children present in the Itaigara neighborhood were also able to play with Christmas-themed equipment for free. While little Tess Cardoso ventured into the personalized reindeer swing, architect Marcela Cardoso highlighted how important the Christmas period is for the relationship between mother and daughter. “Christmas for us is unity, love and family together,” he said.
In the ball pit integrated into the Christmas tree, Guilherme Silva, aged 8, played diving. “I want a pet dog”, revealed the boy. The boy’s brother, driver Hugo Silva stated that the space provides a distraction for the little ones that goes beyond the Christmas atmosphere. “He doesn’t sit still. These toys make children want to come here regardless of Christmas”, he highlighted.
