Opposition announces support and re-election of Carlos Muniz reaches 40 councilors in the Salvador Chamber

Councilors Augusto Vasconcelos and Aladilce Souza, from PCdoB, Marta Rodrigues, from PT, and Silvio Humberto, from PSB, met with the current mayor of Salvador, councilor Carlos Muniz (PSDB), to declare support for the re-election of the toucan on the afternoon of this Monday (21).
During the meeting, the members of the bench presented an agenda with 16 items, which were agreed with the president of the Legislature. Among them is the maintenance of autonomy before the Executive Branch and the guarantee of the proportionality of the benches in the composition of the House’s thematic committees.
According to leader Silvio Humberto, during the meeting a positive assessment of the current management was made. “We made a positive assessment of these two years and decided to support the re-election of President Carlos Muniz”, stated the leader, highlighting that all the points of the “commitment letter” were accepted by him, “which reinforces the autonomy of the House, the spaces legislation and thus, the institutional strengthening of the Chamber of Salvador”.
In total, 40 councilors have already declared support for Carlos Muniz’s re-election. The members of the benches of União Brasil, PP, PL, PDT, DC, PRD, PSDB, Podemos, PV, MDB and Cidadania have already endorsed their vote to remain in the Presidency of the House.
