A 21-year-old young man was shot dead in the Centro Industrial region of the municipality of Jequié, in the south center of the state. The victim was driving a motorcycle with a woman on the back. The crime was recorded last Wednesday afternoon (23).

According to the Civil Police, Gilmar de Souza Core Junior was on the motorcycle when he was shot. The woman was injured and was taken by a Samu ambulance to Prado Valadares General Hospital, where she remains hospitalized. Gilmar did not survive his injuries and died.

According to the Military Police, a team was called and found the injured victims. “Military police officers from the 19th BPM were called late Wednesday afternoon (23), after receiving information about two people lying on the ground, injured by gunshots in the Mandacaru neighborhood, in Jequié. Upon arrival, the PMs found one of the victims succumbed to his injuries at the scene and the other had been taken to a health unit in the region by members of the public”, says the note.

The case investigations are conducted by the 1st Territorial Police Station (DT – Jequié), which must rely on the body’s expertise. The author and motivation of the crime have not yet been identified.
