A baby was abandoned by his mother this Friday afternoon (25) at the Acesso Norte station, in Rótula do Abacaxi, in Salvador. A security guard from CCR Metrô Bahia was at the scene and found the child, providing the necessary care and referrals.

Military police officers from the 9th Independent Military Police Company (CIPM) were called to verify the situation of abandonment of incapacitated people and confirmed the fact. The child was taken to the Specialized Police Station for the Repression of Crimes against Children and Adolescents (Dercca).

“Upon arriving at the scene, the garrison found that a woman had abandoned the baby and fled the scene,” the police said in a statement.

CCR Metrô Bahia also reported in a note that security agents acted to preserve the physical integrity of the child and the Military Police were called.

The baby’s mother was not identified.
