More than 30 ‘highly dangerous’ prisoners are transferred from Feira de Santana

Thirty-one inmates of the Feira de Santana Penal Complex (CPFS), highly dangerous and who exercised leadership among the inmates, were transferred to prisons in other locations this Tuesday morning (29). They were identified through the work of agencies that work in prison interventionstarted on the 21st.
During this period, there was a 78.6% reduction in the rates of intentional lethal violent crimes (CVLI) in the region. The actions are integrated between the Public Ministry of Bahia (MPBA), the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration and Resocialization (Seap), the National Secretariat of Penal Policies (Senappen) and the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP/BA).
Between the 21st and 28th of this month, three violent crimes were recorded in the municipality. For the same period in 2023, there were 14 deaths. This week, so far there has been no record of brutal violence in the cities. For the MP-BA, the numbers reflect the results of Operation Angerona, ongoing in the penal complex.
A police found cell phonesimprovised sharp weapons and portions of drugs inside cells of the Feira de Santana Penal Complex on the 21st. More than 40 cells in the prison unit were searched and all material collected will be examined by the Technical Police Department (DPT).
The objective of the intervention is to control communication between inmates and the outside world and curb criminal activities that may originate inside prison units. The custodians will be sent to units in Vitória da Conquista and Barreiras.
