Current mayor of Camaçari, Elinaldo Araújo (União Brasil) spoke out after Luiz Caetano (PT) won the municipal elections this Sunday (27). According to the manager, the PT member had allied himself with crime to guarantee victory at the polls.

“The election ended practically in a draw, even though we faced several adversities. Our opponent has no scruples. He joined the parallel power of evil, which oppresses people in several neighborhoods of our city”, he said.

Furthermore, Elinaldo stated that Caetano used the Military Police to intimidate the population. “Today (Sunday), it was a very disturbed election, they arrested several of our activists wearing blue shirts. I myself was at the police station, there were more than 30 people arrested, being accused of buying votes, with nothing in their hands, just to intimidate and oppress our activists”, added the mayor.

With 50.92%, Luiz Caetano won the dispute for the second round and was elected mayor of the municipality, located in the Metropolitan Region of Salvador, for the fourth time. He defeated candidate Flávio Matos (União Brasil), who had 49.08% of the votes.
