The mansion of Matthew Perry, actor from the Friends series found dead in his jacuzzi at the end of last year, was sold this week for US$8.5 million, approximately R$48 million. The information is from the New York Times.
The residence, located in Los Angeles in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, has 325,000 square meters, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The house, built in 1965, was purchased by the actor for R$34 million in 2020. Perry carried out several renovations, including building the jacuzzi in which he was found dead.
A Batman fanatic, the “Friends” star often posted images of Batman-inspired home decor – including an LED-lit Bat-Signal at the bottom of the pool.
According to the American vehicle, the new owner is Anita Verma-Lallian, a real estate developer and film producer from Scottsdale, Arizona.
Mattew Perry died aged 54 from “acute effects of ketamine” – a medicine used to treat depression and anxiety. Initially classified as drowning, two months later, the Los Angeles County coroner said the actor also had ketamine, a type of opioid, in his system.
In August of this year, the actor’s former personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, two of his doctors and two other people were accused of supplying Perry with ketamine. One of the doctors confirmed the accusation.
