Man gets into physical fight with police officer, gets shot and dies in Itapuã

A man died after getting into a physical fight with a military police officer (PM) during an approach in the Itapuã neighborhood, in Salvador, on Sunday night (20). According to the corporation, the suspect, identified as Marcos Vinicius Costa Gomes, stole the PM’s gun and shot the police officer. The soldier fired another gun he was carrying and hit the man in the leg.
During the incident, military police officers from the 15th Independent Company (CIPM) were called to a report of drug trafficking on Rua Aristides Milton. Upon arrival, the agents found Marcos Vinicius. During the personal search, the suspect reacted and was injured.
The man is suspected of involvement in drug trafficking in Bairro da Paz. He was rescued and taken to Menandro de Farias Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. The incident was registered at the Person Protection Police Station (DHPP).
Drugs, weapons, watches and money were presented by the police at the specialized unit.
