A man died after exchanging gunfire with police inside a guesthouse in Trancoso, in the south of Bahia, this Sunday (20). He was identified as Lucas Neres Aguiar Cardoso, 24 years old.

According to information from the Civil Police, military police received information that there were armed men at the inn. Upon arriving at the scene, the police were met with gunfire and returned fire.

After the shooting, police officers from Rondesp Extremo Sul and Cipe Mata Atlântica found Lucas’ body. According to the PM, he was taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA), but he did not survive his injuries. The other suspects managed to escape.

A pistol with four ammunition and 54 pins of cocaine were seized from the man. The material was presented at the 2nd Territorial Police Station (DT – Arraial D’Ajuda). . Guides for forensic examination and removal of the body were issued.
