Man dies after clash with police in southwestern Bahia

A man died after a confrontation with military police in Vitória da Conquista, in southwestern Bahia. He was identified as Werley Silva Sousa, 36 years old. The case happened this Wednesday morning (23) on Rua Bruno Bacelar, in the Alto Maron neighborhood, east of the municipality.
According to the Military Police (PM), garrisons from the Independent Tactical Policing Company (CIPT/Rondesp Sudoeste) went to investigate a report of a man carrying a firearm in the region. The suspect shot at the police, who returned fire. He was hit and taken to the Vitória da Conquista Base Hospital, where he did not survive.
According to the Civil Police, the case was registered at the Vitória da Conquista Homicide Police Station. The action resulted in the seizure of a 38 caliber revolver and ammunition, which were presented at the police station.
