President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was at the Hospital Sírio-Libanês unit, in Brasília, on the afternoon of this Monday (28), to remove the five stitches from the cut suffered in the back of the neck, following a domestic accident that occurred on the last day. 19, when he suffered a fall while using the bathroom, at Palácio do Alvorada, his official residence. The procedure, considered simple, was confirmed by the Presidency of the Republic’s advisors and lasted just a few minutes.

Image tests carried out shortly after the fall showed a small hemorrhage in the president’s brain, and the medical team recommended, as a precaution, that he avoid long-distance travel.

At the time, Lula canceled his trip to participate in the BRICS Leaders’ Summit, a bloc formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, in Kazan, Russia. The president also had to cancel his trip to the Biodiversity Conference (COP160, in Cali, Colombia, which would be this week.

In the last medical evaluation, carried out on Friday (25), the health situation was stable, with the indication that the president continues to be able to carry out his work routine in Brasília. New assessments should take place in the coming days.
