Liam Payne was under the influence of several drugs when passed away last Wednesday (16). The Brit fell from the third floor of a room at the CasaSur hotel, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and died. According to ABC News, traces of crack, cocaine and methamphetamine were found in the artist’s toxicological examination.
According to the website, the singer had consumed “pink cocaine”, a mixture of synthetic drugs, as well as ketamine, benzodiazepine, MDMA, among other substances. Authorities also found a makeshift aluminum drug tube inside Liam’s room. The singer’s body will remain in Argentina until the autopsies are completed.
The artist was found dead at the Casa Sur hotel, in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to the Argentine newspaper La Nación, the pop star died after falling from the third floor of the hotel, located in the Palermo neighborhood.
Officers from Police Station 14B received a report of an aggressive man, possibly under the influence of drugs. A team from the Emergency Medical Care System (Same) was at the scene and confirmed the death. Head of the Emergency Medical Care System (Same) in Argentina, Alberto Crescenti reported that the artist suffered a fall of thirteen to fourteen meters and there was no possibility of resuscitation.
“At 5:04 p.m. [local]via 911, we were alerted about a person who was in the inner courtyard of the Casa Sur hotel. A few minutes later, a local SAME team arrived and confirmed the death of this man, who we later learned was a member of a musical group,” he explained to the TN portal.
In a solo career since 2016, Liam Payne gained notoriety with British boyband One Direction. The group, in addition to Liam, included Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan. The band started in 2010 and has 42.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify even seven years after the breakup.
The singer is survived by his 7-year-old son Bear Payne, the result of his relationship with Cheryl Cole.
