João Rebello’s sister says he was murdered by mistake: ‘Nothing to do with banditry’
Former Globo child actor was killed with 12 gunshots in Trancoso, district of Porto Seguro in the south of the state. Police identified two suspects

Maria Carol Rebello, João Rebello’s sister, said that the DJ and former Globo child actor was murdered by mistake. João was killed by 12 shots in Trancoso, district of Porto Seguro, in the south of Bahia, on the night of last Thursday (24).
According to images from security cameras, two men approached on a motorcycle and fired shots inside João’s car. He died instantly. The case took place in Praça da Independência, the center of the destination loved by tourists.
According to TV Bahia, one day after the crime, the military police seized in the Mirante do Rio Verde neighborhood, in Porto Seguro, the motorcycle that had allegedly been used by the men to commit the crime. Two homicide suspects have already been identified.
“João was a man of light who just wanted to transmit his spirituality and all the best in life. My brother was executed by mistake. We want this to be very clear. He has nothing to do with banditry”, stated Maria Carol Rebello, in an interview with TV Bahia.
The Civil Police of Bahia confirmed that investigations indicate that former child actor João Rebello had been killed by mistake and that the victim was not involved in criminal activities.
The 3rd Territorial Police Station of Trancoso continues to investigate João’s death.
