The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) raised the risk of intense rain for 17 cities in Bahia. The forecast is for rain between 30 and 60 mm/h or 50 and 100 mm/day and intense winds, with 60-100 km/h. There is a risk of electricity cuts, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.
The orange alert is valid until this Tuesday (21) and the severity level is dangerous. The affected municipalities are in the Far West of Bahia and Vale São-Franciscano of Bahia. They are: Angical, Baianópolis, Barreiras, Canápolis, Catolândia, Cocos, Coribe, Correntina, Cotegipe, Cristópolis, Feira da Mata, Formosa do Rio Preto, Jaborandi, Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Riachão das Neves, Santa Maria da Vitória and Santa Rita de Cassia.
Other states will also be affected, such as Minas Gerais, Paraná and Mato Grosso. The zones are as follows: Triângulo Mineiro/Alto Paranaíba, East Goiano, Central Mineira, Western Tocantins, Southeast Pará, South Goiano, Eastern Tocantins, São José do Rio Preto, Southwest Paraense, Northeast Mato Grosso, North Goiano, South Maranhense, Far West of Bahia, Ribeirão Preto, Northwest of Minas, Southwest of Piauí, Center of Goiano, North of Minas, Federal District, São-Franciscano Valley of Bahia, North of Mato Grosso, Northwest of Goiano, Araçatuba.
The advice is, in case of gusts of wind, not to take shelter under trees, as there is a risk of falling and electrical discharges, in addition to not parking vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs. It is also recommended to avoid using electronic devices plugged into the socket.
