Carol Souza said the incident shook her sense of security

Influencer Carol Souza was terrified to discover that a gift that seemed harmless was, in fact, a way for her to be watched. She recently received a teddy bear from a follower and, shortly after, realized that there was a tracking device inside it.

“I received the teddy bear as a gift a few weeks ago, from one of my most active followers”, revealed Carol in an interview with O Globo. “At the time, I thought it was just another gesture of affection, but I had no idea what was hidden inside it,” he continued.

The girl says she accepted the gift as she always did, but began to notice something strange days later. “It took me a few days to realize that something was wrong. I noticed a poorly finished seam on one of the bear’s paws. That’s when I decided to investigate further and found the hidden AirTag”, he explains.

The discovery left the girl in shock. “My first reaction was to block the follower on social media. I didn’t confront him directly, but I’m considering reporting it to the police, because this situation really affected me,” he says.

“I felt extremely uncomfortable and vulnerable. It was like my privacy had been completely invaded. It was a very strange and scary feeling knowing that someone was trying to track me,” he added.

After the episode, the influencer said she was more cautious with the gifts she received. “Yes, after this incident, I became much more cautious. Although I know that most fans have good intentions, this event made me rethink my relationship with the gifts I receive,” she concluded.
