The candidates for president of the United States, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, tied with 49% of voting intentions each, in a national survey by Emerson College, released today. The survey also shows that 1% of likely voters will support an independent candidate and another 1% are undecided.
The survey shows that Trump leads among male voters, with an advantage of 13 percentage points over Harris (55% to 42%), while the Democrat leads among women by 10 points (54% to 44%). The vice president’s numbers indicate a worse performance than that obtained by President Joe Biden in 2020.
Regardless of who they will vote for, the Emerson College survey shows that 50% of voters see a chance of victory for the Republican against a 49% chance of victory for Harris.
The poll was conducted from October 23 to 24, 2024, among 1,000 voters, and has a margin of error of approximately three percentage points.
Earlier this month, another Emerson College poll showed Harris in the lead with 50% of voting intentions, against Trump’s 48%, but also signaling a tie due to the margin of error.
