Os attacks by drug dealers from the Katiara faction in Cajazeiras 11 which, according to residents, have been taking place for about a week, follow a specific strategy: the use of the forested region close to Rua Teodolino Macêdo Campos and the transversal roads that give access to it. According to those who live there, around 15 men invade the neighborhood, always in the early hours of the morning, with shots and provocations targeting members of the Bonde do Maluco (BDM) faction who are hiding there.

To reach the region, they mainly use three intersections, namely Routes 58, 60 and 61, where the report found graffiti with symbols that refer to the faction. “Before invading the streets here, jumping and opening gates that we put in place for more security, drug dealers enter the forest area through the piston. You already know the route because down there, before, it used to be a traffic stop. As it is early in the morning, they are able to cross the avenue with weapons and enter the streets”, explains a resident, who prefers not to be identified.

The piston mentioned by the resident, in fact, is Avenida 2 de Julho, which separates the neighborhoods of Cajazeiras 11 and Águas Claras which, according to a police source, is where Katiara’s drug dealers come from. “Just like Valéria and other neighborhoods in the region, Águas Claras is affected by KT bandits, who stay mainly in small houses, very close to the piston. Then, in a matter of minutes, they arrive in Cajazeiras 11 using this forested area. To leave, it’s just as quick”, says the police officer, without identifying himself.

This ease of entry and exit would even make it difficult to arrest criminals. Contacted to talk about the case, the Bahia Military Police (PM) reported that agents from Rondesp Central were called to investigate the report of armed individuals in Cajazeiras 11 in the early hours of this Tuesday (22). The PM explained, however, that, upon arrival, the police carried out patrols and raids throughout the region, but no criminals were located on the streets.

The police source also explains why KT criminals invaded the neighborhood through the condominiums. “These condominiums, which are actually streets where residents put up gates for more security, have the back part facing this forested area that faces the piston. So, they are a path that facilitates action, especially because walls and gates are not capable of stopping these traffickers”, he adds.

In audio recorded by residents, it is possible to hear the sounds of gunshots accompanied by screams from drug dealers provoking members of the Bonde do Maluco (BDM) faction. During the action, they shout ‘where are you’ at several moments.

A resident even told the reporter that the traffickers were looking for two specific people, but did not remember the name they shouted.

According to data from the Fogo Cruzado Institute, from January 1st to October 21st this year, 12 shootings have already been recorded in Cajazeiras 11, with 4 dead and 1 injured. In the same period last year, there were 4 shootings and 3 deaths.
