On Monday afternoon (28), Salvador Airport received the first direct Air France flight from Paris, marking the beginning of a new international route between the two cities. The Airbus A350, which landed at around 4:30 pm with passengers from the French capital, consolidates an important achievement for Bahian tourism.

This operation is the result of a collaboration between the State Secretariat of Tourism (SETUR), Air France and Salvador Bahia Airport, with the aim of attracting new players and boosting tourism in the state.

With three weekly frequencies — on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays — the direct flight between Salvador and Paris will be operated by a modern aircraft, one of the most efficient and sustainable in the company’s fleet and which has capacity for around 324 passengers. The connection offers passengers the possibility of connecting to more than 160 destinations around the world, covering Europe, Africa and Asia.

The new route is seen as strategic to increase the flow of international tourists and strengthen the tourist market in Bahia, with forecasts of reaching the highest volume of international passengers at Salvador airport in 25 years, by January 2025. The reception ceremony featured with the presence of authorities such as Marcelo Freixo, president of Embratur, the governor of Bahia Jerônimo Rodrigues, and executives from Air France and Salvador Bahia Airport.

The new route already has tickets on sale, starting at R$4,300, and promises to bring even more international visibility to Salvador, connecting the city with the world through Charles de Gaulle airport, in Paris.
